The more you cleanse your body beforehand, the more focused you will be in the ceremony. Other than that, we were just eating normally-eggs, veggies, pasta, fish, some dairy. That said, we dieting relatively little, mostly just avoiding alcohol the week before. Make sure there is a translator present for ya! One of the assistants also happened to speak English fairly well, though we only found this out toward the end. This was necessary in order to understand the Master’s instructions and for us to feel secure and safe. It happens to be that we became friends with our tour guide who led us on the Lares trek he came with us as a Spanish-English speaker to the ceremony and translated from the Shaman. Throughout the process, we felt cared for by the Shaman/Master and his assistants. This ceremony cleanses the body and mind and brings you close to humans in a unique way for westerners. Yardena & I are beyond grateful to the Master. Master Isi, his assistants Javier and Herbert, and the local Peruvian community participating in the ceremony welcomed us as family into the sacred Ayuhuasca Ceremony of the Peru Jungle.
